Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Canada is powered largely by coal-fired electricity facilities, all with potential for CO2 capture.

There is ongoing research into the potential for CO2 storage in Atlantic Canada by a new organization called CCS Nova Scotia; a partnership between Nova Scotia Power, the province of Nova Scotia and Dalhousie University.  It appears that there are promising rock formations and coal seams for storage but more work is needed and underway to confirm this.
